Lobby Engagement
Please consider this article to know about the Lobby engagement to be maintained by HR.
The Slack Channel named Lobby is the heart of the company in terms of ensuring bonding amongst the company members as well as the belongingness towards the company.
Lobby is a semi-formal channel wherein we greet and celebrate every small or big accomplishment that any member has achieved in his/her individual capacity or in a group.
Please consider the kind of messages that can be shared in the Lobby:
a) Welcome message for a new joiner (Check Induction process)
b) Farewell message for an existing member (Check Relieving process)
c) Festival/special occasion wishes
d) Birthday wishes
e) Joining Anniversary wishes
f) Build-up for any ongoing company initiative/campaign; for example, posts related to Learn, Teach and Grow
g) Congratulatory messages for the winners of any company initiative/campaign
h) Photos depicting the personal life of members
i) Photos depicting hobbies/new skills learned by members
j) Posts on personal experiences of members
k) Congratulatory Posts/photos of members on getting married, grah pravesh, etc
l) Play games; post puzzles
m) Forwarded messages are prohibited
n) Good morning/hello/bye messages are prohibited
Regarding Lobby, HR team should
- try to be the first one to know about the developments and post them in Lobby.
- always have a strong presence in the Lobby.
- send a message and not just an emoji.
- maintain positive and active communication in the Lobby.
- rope in as many members as possible in the convesation.
- have an infectiously cheerful and empathetic presence.
- appreciate it when someone comes out of his/her comfort zone and shares bits of his/her personal life.
- ensure that no message/photo/information shared in Lobby demeans/disrespects any individual/religion/group.
- ensure that the language used is English and is aptly courteous to all.
- ensure that members address each other respectfully.
It is the responsibility of the HR team to develop this channel as a healthy breather for all as they continue to put in their best at work.
- Through this, you can come to know about the members in a much better manner in terms of their likes, dislikes, communications skills, leadership capabilities, knowledge, IQ level, aspirations, individual bondings, etc.
- It will give you handy information about who can help you plan the next offline company meet and even participate in the event.
- It will give a kick start to your one-o-one interaction with any member.
HR is incomplete without the human element and Lobby is your tool to build understanding and your empathic approach towards all.
