How to upload videos in Frame.io
Frame.io is a cloud-based platform designed for video collaboration, review, and approval. It's commonly used by professionals in the film, video production, animation, and creative industries. The platform aims to streamline the often complex and time-consuming process of sharing, reviewing, and approving video content among teams and clients.

Access the main dashboard: At Webdew, we share a common account, hence HR will help you log in to the Frame.io account. After you are in, it will be helpful to pin the platform to your Chrome as you will be using this tool a lot.
Create a Folder: Once you are in the main dashboard, you will see multiple folders of ongoing and completed projects. Folders are typically used to organize different sets of videos or collaborations. Look for the one you are currently working on, if you don't have a folder set up already, create a new folder where you want to upload the videos.
Click on the + sign, fill in the project name and select the suitable setting, then click on create project. Now you will see the folder in the listing.
Navigate to the Folder: Once inside the dashboard, select the folder you want to upload videos to.
Upload Videos:
- Click on the "Upload" button.
- A file browser window will appear. Locate the videos you want to upload from your computer and select them.
It is a best practice to name your file correctly and organize them in relevant folders. For eg: create a folder for Storyboard and then add the Storyboard inside this folder. This way it will be easier for any of your colleagues to find the materials in your absence.
Drag Videos and Collate with the same file:
There may be instances where you will have to rework on the same content several times which might give you multiple reworked versions of the same file. For eg: You might have received comments on the first storyboard and then you rework and share the second version with the client. In this case, it is advised to drag the file and add it on top of the previous file. This will help you and the client to switch back to earlier versions and compare the comments.
Share for Review :
- Once the files are uploaded, select the three-dot option provide at the right corner of the file.
- Click on Share -> Share for review, then proceed to copy the file link and share it with the client for collaboration.
- Remember to, go into settings and make sure that the “Allow downloads” option is OFF. This can be switched ON, during the final delivery after all the payment has been cleared by the client.
( Note: All watermarked files are shared with clients, until the final complete delivery.)
Review and Collaboration:
Once the videos are processed, you and your collaborators can review them and leave comments directly on the timeline.
Approval and Next Steps:
After the review process is complete, you can decide whether the videos are ready for approval or if further edits are needed. Collaborators can usually provide feedback and make suggestions for revisions.
