How you can set up two-factor authentication for your HubSpot login

HubSpot login usually requires just your username and password. Logging in with two-factor authentication requires verification using a second device, such as your mobile phone. This lowers down the risk of a potential intrusion.

2FA verification can be done through an SMS, or with an authenticator app, like Google Authenticator. If you have set up HubSpot 2FA with Google Authenticator but have changed to a new Android phone, you can transfer Authenticator codes to your new device.

Enable two-factor authentication for your login

To set up two-factor authentication in HubSpot:

  • Click the settings icon in the main navigation bar in your HubSpot account.
  • Go to Security in the left sidebar menu.
  • In the Two-step authentication, Click Set up two-factor authentication (2FA).

For this setup process, you’ll need access to a device like a mobile or tablet for logging in through SMS

  • Choose the verification method SMS.
  • Enter your mobile number.
  • You will receive a 6-digit code on the mobile number you provided.
  • Enter the code.
  • In the last step, you'll be provided with 10 backup verification codes. These codes can be used in case you lose your 2FA device. Save your codes by clicking Print or Download (PDF)
  • Click Next.
  • Next time, you'll be prompted to enter a code that is delivered to your device to log in.

Secondary method- set-up two-factor authentication for HubSpot login by app Google Authenticator

  • Click Set-up secondary method.
  • Click Next.
  • Open the Google-Authenticator app on your device and scan the QR code.
  • You will receive a 6-digit code on your mobile.
  • Click next.
  • Enter the 6-digit code that you received.
  • Click Next.
  • Click Done.

Require two-factor authentication for all users

If you're a Super Admin, you can make every user in the account to require to use two-factor authentication. 

  • Click the settings icon settings in the main navigation bar in your HubSpot account.
  • Go to Account Defaults in the left sidebar menu.
  • On the General tab, in the Security section, click the toggle Require Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) switch on. 
  • In the dialog box, click Yes
