A brief guide to your HubSpot Contacts Home

In HubSpot, potential customer information is stored and managed in contact records. Contact records are displayed in contacts home. In your contacts home, you can:

  • see an overview of the contacts;
  • filter contacts based on their property values;
  • create and save views
  • bulk edit contacts, deleting them.

Manage contacts 

 

  • Go to Contacts > Contacts in your HubSpot account.
  • In the upper right:
    • Actions: click the dropdown Actions:
      • Edit properties: select to edit your contact properties. 
      • Manage duplicates: select to parse through possible duplicate contacts that HubSpot identifies for you. 
      • Restore contacts: select to restore certain deleted contacts. 
    • Import: click to import records. 
    • Create contact: click to manually create a new contact.

View contacts

 

  • On the contacts dashboard, you can search for a contact name from the search bar. 
  • Clicking the contact's name will bring you to its detailed record. 
  • From the bottom of the page, you can select the number of contacts you want to display on one single page. Click [Number] per page and select to view 25 per page50 per page, or 100 per page.
  • You can also bulk edit your contacts by selecting the checkboxes next to the contacts name.

Customize the properties shown in the table

 

  • Click Table actions in the upper right to edit the properties of contacts shown in the table and select Edit Columns
    • Select the properties from the left that you want to appear in the table.
    • Drag and drop properties on the right side to arrange them the way you want them to appear in the table.
    • Click x to remove a property.
    • Click Apply.
  • Click the property name at the top of the table to sort your records using property values.
  • You can resize your columns by clicking, holding, and dragging the edge of the column.
  • Re-arrange your columns by clicking and holding the handle and then dragging it to your preferred area.

Filter contacts based on their property values

 

  • Click any of the default contact property dropdown above the contact table and select the values according to which you want your contacts to be displayed.
  • For other properties, click More filters and search and click the property in the right panel. Select an option, enter property values that you want to filter for, and click Apply filter.
  • Click Clear All to clear the filter.

View a specific subset of the contacts

 

All contacts, My contacts, Unassigned contacts are views created by default. 

To add a new view

  • Click Add view to add a view then click Create a new view.
  • Give a name to the view in the new box.
  • Select an option with whom you want to share the view.
  • Click Save.
  • You can also click All View to see all the available views.
