Slack is a communication tool that we are using in webdew for internal and external communication. We have various channels on slack as per the Departments, services, projects, campaigns, etc. To use slack systematically and efficiently there are certain policies in regard to the usage of slack in webdew.
Following are the Do’s of Slack
- Slack must be logged in to your Laptop/System and mobile.
- Notification must be always turned ON for the slack on Laptop/System and Mobile Device
- There must be instant availability for the slack messages
- Always communicate in channels
- Channel must be integrated with the relevant ClickUp list
- You can use the reminder feature for important notifications
- The weekly report must be shared in the relevant slack channel
- Always use the Lightshot link to share the screenshots
- Use the Google Drive links to share the files in the slack channels
- Always tag a person if you are replying in the thread of any message
- If any team member is mentioned in a comment, the team member must acknowledge the message
- User reply in the thread option when answering a particular question or responding to a particular message.
- Acknowledge the message even when you want to work on it later and communicate the same as well
Following are the Don’ts of Slack
- Send Direct Messages to team members
- Share any Project related Assets on Slack
- Share any credentials on Slack
- Share any Irrelevant Information
- Share any Project details
- Share any attachment
- Reply in the thread without tagging a person
- Share WhatsApp kind of stuff in the slack “lobby” channel.
- React with irrelevant and unprofessional emojis
- Tag an entire channel when you want to communicate with a specific team.
- Send multiple short Slack messages.
