Channels

Slack organizes conversations into dedicated spaces called channels. With the right people and information in one place, teams can share ideas, make decisions, and move work forward.

Let’s discuss the channels used by Video’s team in detail.

Note: All channels are created by the HR team, and team members are added to the channel accordingly.

Channels for the Videos department:

t-services-videos : All members of the video team are part of this channel. Here, the team members will update their daily assigned work status and coordinate with the project managers to update the work progress.

services-Videos-Leads : All the video team leads and managers are part of this group, where updates on current projects, status, and deliverables are shared with the reporting managers. This is where the lead team collaborates among themselves and also asks permission to place any orders on Fiverr, etc.

The rest of the video team members are not part of this channel hence communication with them will take place in t-services-videos channel.

video-feasibility: This is where the sales team and videos lead team communicate with each other. The sales team will do a feasibility check here to know whether a certain video can be done by the team.

Similarly, the video team leads can communicate with the sales team here if they need to update on the project status, especially regarding crossing the allocated time or budget, etc. If a client asks for additional deliverables outside of the committed SOW that can also be brought to the sales team's attention here.

d-sales-services : A team lead is assigned to a project here by the sales team and all the SOW is shared here. This is where, the project delivery time, payment terms, etc. can be tracked.

hr-leaders : All team leads and managers are part of this group. This is where the HR will tag you if they need to discuss, leave applications, TD shots, etc. with the team leads/managers. The leads/managers can also reach out to HR here if they have any questions.

Note: All communications within the channel should be strictly professional. To start a chat, tag the team member and message in the same thread rather than starting a new chat for each message.
