This article will guide you through the process of manually adding time to the Upwork tracker when you are juggling multiple ongoing projects.
To get started, watch the accompanying video and then follow the instructions provided below.
Before you can bill for manual time, it's crucial to ensure that your client has enabled this option. Keep in mind that clients can disable it at any time as well. Therefore, it's essential to have a conversation with them before logging any manual hours to confirm their willingness to pay for this time. Once the option is enabled, you can easily add manual time either through the Upwork Desktop App or directly in your Work Diary.
Here's how to add manual time to your Work Diary:
Using your computer:
- Navigate to "My Jobs" and select "Work Diary" from the dropdown menu.
- Choose the contract for which you want to add hours.
- Select the specific day to which you wish to add hours and click on "Add Manual Time."
- Specify the time period, provide a brief description of the work done, and then click "Save."
Please note that the default time settings for both the desktop app and Work Diary are in UTC. If you'd like to log hours in your own time zone, simply select "Mine" from the dropdown time zone menu in your Work Diary.
