Check list for importing objects into HubSpot

Submitted By: Deepti Sharma

With the import tooling HubSpot you can create records or update your CRM in bulk.
These imported files are spreadsheets of the data that contain records of your business processes.

Before importing the data, learn the important terms and requirements for import files.

CRM Objects: CRM Objects are a dataset such as Contacts, Companies, Deals and Tickets, that you will be importing in your HubSpot account.

Record: an individual instance of an object. E.g., “Divya verma” is a contact record.

Property: Property is equal to information. It is a field created to store information about the records. While importing, properties should match up with your file’s column headers.

Unique identifier: a property value that HubSpot uses to recognize each record as one of a kind.  An

  • Email is a unique identifier for a contact record.
  • Domain name a unique identifier for a company record.
  • [Object] ID is a unique property value given to each record by HubSpot.

Map Columns: When you will be importing your files into your HubSpot account, you will be prompt to match the header fields of your file to the HubSpot properties.
